Dragoș Toacă – Cambridge, installation, pavillion, technoruralism

This exhibition explores the visual and textual potentialities of parallax, an observer’s effect rendered by the viewer’s change in the point of view from which an object is beheld. We are interested in testing to what extent certain manipulations of form affect the viewers’ perception of the artwork and, most importantly, their beliefs regarding the end message of this artistic experiment. The play on superpositions of text is suggestive of the multiple worlds that these coinciding meanings appear to enable. There is no absolute interpretation, which seems to be the obvious inference – only fictional potentialities generated by perception, history, or simply time and place.
